Rural Development Project

From December 2001, a Rural Development Project was taken up at Siddhagiri in Tumkur District. In 2005, this was shifted to Junjaramanahalli, Tumkur District.

The centre conducts the following activities:

    • Education for students: The centre has a formal free school for children in Junjaramanhalli. Uniforms, books, tiffin and midday meals are provided to the students at no cost. Educational excursions are also organized. At present, 125 students are registered in this school.Help is given to needy students in the form of cash and kind. An auditorium, a library for students and a dispensary for conducting regular medical camps was inaugurated by Rev. Ajayaprana Mataji, President of Sri Sarada Math, Thrissur, Kerala and Trustee of Sri Sarada Math & member of Governing body of Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Dakshineswar, Kolkata on 20th February 2017.
    • Upliftment of Women: Tailoring classes are conducted for village women to empower them to support themselves.
    • Healthcare:
      • General medical camps are conducted by Dr. Nayantara on a fortnightly basis. Free medicines, medical guidance and counselling are provided. Patients needing further treatment are referred to hospitals and financial help is given to them.
      • Eye camps are conducted by Dr. Manjunath who provides free medicines and spectacles. Patients needing operations are taken to Sarada eye hospital, Pavagada. The rural development project bears all the expenses related to this.
      • Skin camps are being conducted by Dr. Sarojini as a strong need was felt for them in the villages. Free medicines are provided and necessary instructions are provided for hygienic awareness. This initiative has been much welcomed by the villagers.
